Axolotl
The Axolotl is constantly changing – it regrows limbs or tissue while it keeps moving. Change and forward motion stopped being opposites somewhere back down its line of descent.

Beneath every old forest, a fungal network links roots and trees. When one tree is attacked, warnings travel through the system and nearby trees strengthen their defences before the threat arrives. Nutrients, signals and alarms move continuously, so the forest responds as one.

Sandfish Skink
The desert surface should kill it — lethal heat within minutes. So the sandfish stopped fighting the sand and learned to swim through it, moving below the surface where it’s cooler and predators can’t follow. The single most dangerous feature of its environment became the thing that shelters it. It didn’t armor itself against the desert; it relocated into it.
